lets talk whipped foundations!

okay, so, ive tried alot of drugstore foundations and just foundations in general. I find that any foundation thats classified as "whipped" feels so good on your skin but doesn't necessarily look as good as they feel. The two drugstore foundations im going to talk about today are the L'oreal Magic Smooth Souffle foundation and the New Revlon Color Stay Whipped Cream Makeup 24hr. I just picked up the Revlon one the other day as it was on a new revlon display so i'm assuming its brand new. As for the L'oreal one its been around for a little while now and i've seen people love it as well as people hate it. Heres what they look like :
As you can see, the packaging is kind of similar with the glass jars and plastic lids. As for the amount each holds, I'd say they have about the same amount even though the outside of the containers is deceiving. I do love the packaging on both, i think its really classy and cute because of the glass containers and gives it a more "top of the line" look.

As you can see from this picture, even thought they are both whipped products they have very different consistencies. The revlon one has more of a whipped cream consistency as the L'oreal one is alot thicker. In this picture the Revlon one looks as if it has more product except the container is shallow as the L'oreal one is deeper.

This is a little bit of a better picture for consistency. One problem i have with the L'oreal one is the colors they offer. Every color has this kind of chalky finish to it. In the L'oreal one, This is the color nude beige, now to me this does not look like nude beige, this looks alot more like a caramel-y color. In  the glas container it looks alot lighter than this, almost just like the Revlon color and then when you open the container its this orang-y brown color. As for the revlon one it is very true to color from the container to your sin. It also has such a smoother consistency.
Left: Revlon Right: L'oreal
This is the two blended out onto my hand. As you can see the L'oreal one covers but it has such a chalky finish its not appealing on the skin. As for the Revlon one it has a lighter coverage but it blends so much nicer and feels so much nicer. It also gives an airbrushed type finish with the right application. I usually dot it on my skin and then blend it with a flat topped brush from E.L.F.

So overall i would say the Revlon foundation is a must have to anyone whos looking for a lighter summer foundation. As for the L'oreal i would pass on it. The L'oreal foundation retails for about $13.00 wheras the Revlon one retails for about $12.00. Both are a little pricy for drugstore foundations but like i said before, the Revlon one is worth the money.
